Why It's Going to Be Great Following are just the highlights -- you'll experience much more on this amazing adventure.
New Zealand: This gorgeous, small island nation combines England's low-key style with Australia's casual friendliness. Rotorua is the country's native Maori cultural heartland and a geothermal world wonder. A Maori feast and show includes the famous Haka war dance. Queenstown is the thrill sports center of the country, where you can take a jet boat ride and bungee jump. You can also opt for the gentler diversions of horseback tours and riding a gondola to a mountain peak for a spectacular view of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain Range. A full-day tour of Milford Sound, one of New Zealand's most beautiful wilderness destinations, is followed by a visit to Christchurch, "The Garden City." Its founders protected one-third of the land for gardens, parks, and nature reserves. The rest retains its English heritage, particularly Cathedral Square, a magnet for street performers and a daily "parade of life."
Australia: Sydney is the country's best-known city, home of the iconic harbor-side Opera House. You'll tour a historic Victorian district and take a luncheon cruise. A visit to Ayers Rock follows, along with other sites sacred to the native Aboriginals in the desert of central Australia. Depart the arid lands for the shore, spending a few days in tropical Palms Cove, where you'll take a cruise to the Great Barrier Reef for diving, snorkeling, or viewing from an underwater observatory.
Here's what one tour guest had to say about the experience. "We had an incredible journey! Scenery not to be believed, like walking where no man had gone before. Every connection went off without a hitch, and the local guides were really good. They had scheduling of a millions things down to a science, but we didn't feel rushed and saw and did much more than we ever could have on our own. All in all, it was terrific. Thanks for your help in making it happen."
